Adult: 32 years old
City, State: Chandler, Arizona
Area of body affected: Right foot (known due to x-ray) no other area x-rayed yet.
Personal History:
I have had joint pain and stiffness and swelling in my hands, feet, neck and knees for at least five years, but I pretty much ignored it. In June, 2003 I suddenly developed severe pain and loss of mobility in my right, big toe. I have bunions and thought that was the issue. The pain became so intense that if I jarred my foot I became dizzy and sick to my stomach. I went to several doctors in September, 2003. After my orthopedic physician sent my x-ray to a radiologist, he informed me I have Melorheostosis. I have yet to get a second opinion, or have other areas scanned for signs of the disease. I have not had an MRI, and my physician said it was not a severe case.
